YG Entertainment Yang Hyunsuk talks about friendship with Teddy

"Teddy, though younger than me, is the colleague and friend in YG who talks and shares opinions the most. If I were to retire later, Teddy would be the successor to lead YG's music department. Wanting to find a more enjoyable and exciting way to work with such a friend, we decided to create his own new label. Collaborating with Teddy separately with his own label while working as a producer within YG will create a synergistic effect."
In an industry where finding a couple to stay together for 10 years is challenging, Yang Hyunsuk and Teddy have not only shared 20 years in the dynamic music scene but express their desire to continue for another 20 years. The deep connection between them is evident in Yang's voice and expression as he talks about Teddy.
"Many aspiring musicians nowadays choose YG for their music careers. However, there are limitations to how many talents we can accommodate within YG, and even with ten bodies, I cannot take care of them all. That's why I suggested to Teddy to create a new label, and I expect great results. Teddy is the producer with the best instincts and makes excellent music even within YG."
Teddy, YG's representative producer who has been with the company for over 17 years since his 1TYM days in 1998, is not only Yang Hyunsuk's musical colleague but also a close friend. Yang mentioned, "Teddy is a really long-time friend I've known since his trainee days. He does everything I can do," expressing his commitment to contribute various efforts for the new label under the Teddy-Kush partnership.
